How do you pronounce a name that is spelt with a dollar sign? I ask because I am about to meet Ke$ha, this year’s hottest pop poppet, a 22-year-old tousled blonde who is so volcanically trendy that she has already been compared with Madonna and the Beastie Boys despite not actually having released her UK debut single yet.

But who cares when she acts the part of wild-eyed rock star so effectively? Today, she is wearing tiny cut-off denim shorts. Her feet are bare, her thin brown arms weighed down by heavy metallic bracelets and her fingernails slicked with black polish. Her mascara is mussed-up and she speaks with a throatiness that hints at a life of parties on the tour bus. “I could drink a pirate under the table,” she admits. “But last night wasn’t that late. It was only, like, 2am.”

Ke$ha was in the Netherlands for the last couple of days and performed for the first time in that country yesterday, November 27, at Winston club in Amsterdam! Make sure you watch two videos from the show below. I’ve been to Amsterdam before too so I’m sure Ke$ha loved it, now she’s back in the UK where she’ll be performing at G-A-Y club tonight in London!

The UK pop scene is about to be invaded by wild child Ke$ha and her debut single Tik Tok. The 22-year-old LA-born, Nashville-raised daughter of songwriter Pebe Sebert, Ke$ha was featured on Flo Rida’s chart-topping Right Round, has written for The Veronicas and Miley Cyrus and added her distinctive voice to tracks by Britney Spears, Pitbull and Taio Cruz.

She’s broken into, and been thrown out of, Prince’s mansion, vomited in Paris Hilton’s closet and appeared in her pal Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl video.

Tik Tok, the song and promo video, depicts a carefree party lifestyle which she seems keen to champion in person as well as on record.
