Taio Cruz may not be a household name yet in the United States, but that should change soon. The British pop/R&B singer recently broke a Billboard record when his single “Break Your Heart” (featuring Ludacris) jumped 52 places from its debut position to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 chart. (…)

Cruz released his second album in the U.K., Rockstarr, last year, and now has his sights set on the States. Also impressive is the fact that he has songwriting game, a talent that has recently seen him penning tracks for a couple of artists you may recognize. (…)

And while the video for “Break Your Heart” had him poolside and on a speedboat in the ocean, the video for his upcoming single “Dirty Picture” features Ke$ha, so you know they had to make things a bit grittier.

“The video is looking amazing. We’ve got her performing in a public bathroom, which is quite entertaining,” Cruz chuckled. The setting is an underground basement with folks having a good time and Ke$ha being, well, Ke$ha-y.

“Yeah, she’s crazy. She’s cool. She’s not like a mad person — she doesn’t have, like, any kind of censor on what she wants to say. When she wants to say something she just says it and then it’s so much fun. We just had a great time on the set of the video and she’s just an amazing performer and artist.”

Rockstarr is set for a May 18 release, with “Dirty Picture” hitting radio most likely in June. If you can’t wait that long, you will find Cruz with the electronic music fans descending upon Miami’s Winter Music Conference 2010.

On Wednesday night, Ke$ha, along with her pals 3OH!3, hit the “American Idol” stage with their song “Blah Blah Blah.” The performance included dancing with TV heads and Ke$ha donning a Native American headdress while bouncing around the stage.

How does Ke$ha think the performance went?

“Well, I never really know, but I think it went pretty well from what I’ve heard from family members and friends and stuff,” she told MTV News via phone Thursday (March 18). ” … I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. And I was kind of making an ass of myself at the end, but whatever. I was having a good time. I hope it was infectious.”

It was only a matter of time before Miquita Oliver’s obnoxious gobbiness caught up with her (pot, kettle, gobby?) – she’s been suspended from T4 over a bust-up with Kesha (still no energy for that dollar sign, soz) at the NME Awards.

Apparently Miquita called Kesha a naughty four letter word (must have been something really rude like “poop”), and the singer’s management overheard. Uh-oh.

“Miquita was having a really bad day,” says someone we’re well jelz of, because they overheard the whole thing. “She and Kesha had a difference of artistic opinion, shall we say, and there was a bit of a misunderstanding. Miquita blurted out the angry words and thought no-one had heard. She didn’t mean anything personally – it was a spur of the moment thing. But Kesha’s team caught what she had said and were outraged. They complained to Miquita’s bosses and they dealt with her straight away. She was given a serious telling off, and told to take some time off.”

I smell another one-hit wonder fast approaching, faster than a Laidlaw flatbed barrelling down a highway with no brakes. The sad part is that I have seen this before, and all too recently. Can someone say Mandy Moore without the acting career? Or even, her urban cohort, Lumidee, sans the pitchy tonality and street credibility?

What we are looking at here is the fact that people is like to watch an accident in progress. Not rare enough to hold our undivided attention, but so potentially damaging to a career that we need not turn away–not even for a moment. The chance of Ke$ha eclipsing her monster hit “TikTok” is less likely than the Obama Administration passing its Health Care Reform with only Democratic votes. And as everyone knows it’s the sophomore single that cements one position in music.

On the “American Idol” results show tonight, a pro with a #1 single and #1 album on her resumé took over the stage to show everyone what it takes to be a star.

Ke$ha stormed down some illuminated stairs and busted into “Blah Blah Blah,” the second single from her debut album, Animal. Wearing a jagged silver top, torn short shorts and black combat boots, the 23-year-old singer gyrated alongside dancers wearing giant TV screens on their heads.

According to AllAccess.com, Pop sensation Ke$ha is set to release ‘Your Love Is My Drug’ as the third single from her debut LP ‘Animal’.

Catchy, inoffensive, and distinctly generic, the release of the song suggests Ms. Sebert has found a formula that works and is sticking to it. What this means for her longevity is anyone’s guess, however it would be hardly surprising if this becomes a fixture on the radio.
