When Sugarscape met Ke$ha we expected her to be a lot of things, but a total sweetheart wasn’t one of them. We always thought Ke$ha was kinda crazy, and if you watch one of her music videos you’d probably forgive us for jumping to such conclusions.

But when we caught up with her yesterday at her London hotel we were totally surprised by how, well, nice Ke$ha is. Even if she is still a little bit crazy.

We expected our Ke$ha interview to be a disaster. A perfect storm of our giddy excitement to meet one of our favorite new pop stars, Ke$ha’s likely-hungover hazy state, and that which we do not speak of. But we’re pleased to tell you that the whole thing was a rather nice affair, Ke$ha was lucid and coherent, smelt good (I sniff her in part 2) and quite laid back about all the popstar dramas her fans seem to get in a tizzy about. In fact the only bad thing about the interview is our rapidly-failing video camera that seems to have repainted the whole experience using watercolours. Not amazing.

Underpinned with some nice (and actually genuine) sucking up courtesy of myself, Part 1 sees us cover off stuff like pulling Pixie Lott, new single Your Love is My Drug / my love for Animal, and an-almost indepth probing about the whole Dr Luke / Katy Perry soundalike thing. Actually, I just ask her to pull the face she made when she first heard California Gurls.

The pop hellraiser gives British men the thumbs up and sets her sights on Dizzee.

Ke$ha has been talking about her infatuation with British Men. Speaking to Roberto and Margherita Taylor backstage at the Summertime Ball, the Tik Tok star admitted that she’s a big fan of our fair isle.

“I’m always on the hunt!” said Ke$ha. “It’s ridiculous! I really, really like it over here. I was walking in the park and I saw this really hot guy, he was manning one of the carousels and I just thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going to spank you!’.”

Having recorded ‘Dirty Picture’ with Taio Cruz recently, Ke$ha was also keen to get snapped with one of the other stars of the Summertime Ball.

“I would like a dirty picture with Dizzee Rascal. I would take it. It would be funny… we’d be naked with funny hats on!”
