Ke$ha is more likely to take clothes out of people’s bins than buy them in a store.

The 23-year-old pop star loves second hand fashion, and would rather be rummaging through rubbish than trying on designer garments in luxurious boutiques.

She says she can’t walk past a bag of clothes on the side of the road without stopping to pore through it, comparing her search for pre-loved outfits to a “treasure hunt”.

“If I’m in LA and I find a pile of clothes lying on the side of the street that someone plans to throw out, I’ll take it,” she told British magazine More! “I’m like a pirate on a treasure hunt. I am totally more likely to go through someone’s bin than go to a shop.

“I think it’s way more creative. I love used clothes because they have a story to them.”

Ke$ha shot to fame last year with her hit single ‘Tik Tok’. She loves being a celebrity because it has showed her that self-confidence is all you need to be happy.

“Fame has taught me that having confidence is the most important thing in the world,” she explained. “I don’t have the best body in the world, but I have confidence.”
